Professor Alan Riley is currently a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Statecraft, London and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, Washington DC. He previously held a chair in international commercial law at the City Law School, Grays Inn, part of City University, London from 2007-2015. Prior to that he held a number of academic appointments in London, Nottingham and Edinburgh. He has written extensively over the last two decades on antitrust, trade and energy issues. He is chair of the Competition Law Scholars Forum (clasf) and co-editor of the Competition Law Review. He holds a PhD from the Europa Institute, Edinburgh University, and qualified in 1991 as an English solicitor.
